world climate day

Every 26 March since 1992, World Climate Day has been commemorated, a date established by the United Nations in the Convention against Climate Change that year, with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of human actions and activities on climate change.

The scientific community agrees that over the last 150 years there has been significant climate change as a result of industrial development, human population growth, greenhouse gas emissions and overexploitation of natural resources, which has altered the natural cycles of our planet.

At Iberiana we have always considered it a priority, especially in our sector where dependence on the natural environment is absolute, to minimise the impact we leave on our environment by implementing all the actions we can.

Without pretending to be an example, but encouraging more and more companies to join initiatives that help us to curb climate change and take care of our environment, we would like to share with you some of the processes that we put in place at Iberiana, related to both our crops and the production chain.

  • Protection of our flora and fauna:

At Iberiana we work with specialised producers in this area with the aim of protecting flora and fauna. Thanks to this type of initiative, animal species such as partridges, foxes, eagles, storks and wild boar have been able to reproduce in their natural habitats.

We take nature and the environment into account in all our production processes. Our logistics ensure delivery by the most direct route possible and the vehicles that transport the goods are distinguished by their environmentally friendly equipment, so that gas emissions and noise pollution are reduced to a minimum.

  • Integrated crop improvement:

One of our main objectives is to continuously improve the quality of our products to ensure that our customers are always satisfied, and we believe that this is possible while respecting the environment.

For example, we know that crop protection by natural means can replace conventional methods, provided that the specific needs of each type of product are taken into account. Protection nets and ground covers have shown good results against germination of unwanted airborne seeds.

Our quality control managers are constantly searching for new solutions to eliminate phytosanitary products without compromising the quality of our products.

  • Optimisation of water resources:

The farmers we work with optimise the use of water resources through hygrothermal control of their fields.

This is possible thanks to the tests and trials that are carried out after field research and that allow us to be environmentally friendly.

  • Increasingly sustainable packaging:

A fundamental aspect for Iberiana is the search for packaging solutions that respect our philosophy and help to preserve the quality of our products without compromising the future of the planet.

For this reason, we work closely with different manufacturers in order to be at the forefront of the sector and to be able to offer them innovative and sustainable packaging that can be adapted to their needs.

Our packaging solutions reduce the use of plastic to a minimum.
